 Create five all-occasion cards using Copic Markers to color images. Thank-You, Hello, two birthday for her, and one birthday for him. Each kit comes complete with color photos of cards, instructions, and most pieces already cut for you so you can finish them at home if not completed in class or purchase a kit "to go".

Please bring the following markers to class with you: 

Y32, Y35 (used slightly less than the rest of the markers), 

BG32, BG34, BG90, BG93, R02, R05, E51, E53, E35, E37, Colorless Blender, 

Spica Glitter pens in the following colors: clear, silver, olive.

Please bring your favorite adhesive, pop dots (large and small), and glue dots (large and small). We will also be using a black cat eye ink and pointy scissors for fussy cutting colored images.

We will be creating five Valentine cards using Basic Grey printed papers and brads, Copic Markers, Doodlebug Heart Jewels, Twinery Red Shimmer Baker's Twine, and tons more! 

 We will be creating a heart flip card (above) and a circle cut-out card (below). I will be teaching three Colorless Blender Techniques during class.

 NEW THIS YEAR: You will need to supply you own Copic Markers for class. Please bring the following markers with you to class: E00, E17, E18, E19, E21, E23, R24, R27, RV32, RV34 and the Colorless Blender. We will also be using the following Spica glitter pens: Red, Orange, Silver, Clear.

Also, please bring a glue pen, large and small pop dots, large and small glue dots, pointy scissors for cutting. 

Each class kit includes color photographs of the cards along with detailed instructions for completing on your own if desired.

A Walk Down Memory Lane: Hambly Overlay Tutorial

I would like to show you how to create a card using Hambly Overlays. Overlays give the card maker another layer of dimension (and fun!).

Here's a sample of the card I created using

Hambly's On Edge Metallic Overlay.

1. Trim an 11x4" piece from the Hambly Overlay sheet.

2. Use a Martha Stewart Score Tool to score at 5.5" to create a 5.5x4" card.

3. Trim a piece of black or brown cardstock 11"x4" too, and score it at 5.5" as well tucking it inside the overlay after it has been scored.

4. Die cut a greeting and two small flowers for the card front: use a Vagabond die cutting machine or similar die machine,  Sizzix Mover & Shaper Label & Love dies for the piece cut from the Stamp School Sno Cone cardstock, and a Spellbinder die for the two felt flowers.

 5. Die cut a window on the card front by laying the Hambly overlay over a Sizzix Mover & Shaper die (small label) and running the entire 11x4" overlay piece through the die cutting machine. (Hint: Make sure you have the overlay centered over the die and that you are cutting on the FRONT of the card overlay piece).

6. Slip the "Love" die cut piece between the piece of cardstock and the overlay so that it peaks out through the window.

7. Use a crop-a-dile to punch holes through the felt flowers and on either side of the "Love". Place brads through the flowers & holes to fasten the felt flowers, Hambly overlay, die and cardstock piece all together.

8. Use the Crop-a-dile again to punch two holes right on the top fold of the card.

9. Run a ribbon through the holes and tie a knot at the top of the card. I used Little Black Dress Lip Smackin' blue gingham ribbons so that I could curl them for added body.

10. If desired, use a corner punch and punch two photo corners for the bottom two corners of the card front. Use Stickles to add a faux brad look to the top of the photo corners.

Let's Capture Our Memories Card Challenge

This was a fun challenge because it made me leave my comfort zone (which could also be called my LAZY zone)! The challenge was to create a card with either stitching or stars. I choose the stitching and created three stitched flowers using a Bazzill template and embroidery floss. I used the Basic Grey Curio paper & sticker line, Prima stems and packaging, Tim Holtz "Love" die & distressing tool, Marvy Uchida punches, EK Success piercing tool to create faux stitching, pop dots, and Xyron adhesive. The completes card measures 5.5x8.5". Thanks for taking a peak at my "Love" card!
