{Mini-Album} with the Now and Then Collection

MiniAlbumNowandThen1
In June, my husband and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary at Country View Estates B&B Stillwater & Hudson, Wisconsin. They have beautiful gardens, several rescued pets, and a wonderfully lush huge home. I felt that the Now and Then collection from Teresa Collins was the perfect match for my pictures.
Shelly here with a Mini-Album I would love to share with you: I started the mini-album by being inspired by several large tags from The Scrapbooking Studio and added die cut paper, stickers, word stickers, enamel dots, had dyed silk ribbons, a wire binding (Bind-it-All), and die cut pieces from the Now and Then Collection by Teresa Collins.

Along with several die cut images, a Maya Road bingo marker to help commemorate the anniversary year and Distressed Inked edges I added some of the die cut flowers from this collection.

{Card} Pop'N Cuts designed with Teresa Collins papers

StudioSTJan2013PopNCuts1
Teresa Collins' Now & Then line of papers and embellishments was the inspiration for this week's card project. I LOVED her giant die cut flowers from the Now & Then line because they are printed on heavy card stock paper and the matching Enamel Dots work great for flower centers.
StudioSTJan2013PopNCuts6
I also used the Sizzix Pop'N Cuts dies to create this dimensional card. They were so much FUN! You have to try one of these dimensional dies today---The flowers really POP-right out at you. When I coupled the Pop'N Cuts dies (base,  and also Flower, 3-D (Pop-Up)) with the "Hello" set the card almost makes itself. Check out the dimension below:
StudioSTJan2013PopNCuts5
The Teresa Collins' Now & Then papers are nice and heavy and work great with the dies. Here's a picture of the card's inside:
StudioSTJan2013PopNCuts7I used a Spica glitter pen to outline the word "Hello" a bit on the yellow card stock. You can pick up all of these great card making items at The Scrapbooking Studio, Moline, IL 1623 5th Ave, Moline, IL 61265

{Party Cards} Graphic 45 Birdsong

Everybody loves a party AND everybody especially loves getting invited to one! Just imagine how special your guests will feel when they receive a had made party invitation from you!
Graphic 45's Birdsong collection offers some great party invite papers: Endless Spring, Longevity, and Enlightenment are my picks.
When die cut labels serve as the back drop for invites created with Bella Blvd.'s Sophisticates (Salt Water) alpha stickers and Birdsong's Endless Spring paper there is definite excitement in the air.
Add a tiny bell to the card front to create drama and interest before the envelope is even opened.
Longevity is grand and majestic (great for guy cards too) with  bold lines in jeweled tones.
Add pins for interest.
(Hint: I use glue dots to hold my pins together and a second glue dot to hold them in place. I tie a tiny bow from 1/4" ribbon and add that to the intersection of the two pins. Cover the pointy ends with a label. I pop dotted the label to allow for the extra bulk of the pins).
Vellum is a great way to soften any paper colors and create mystical drama! When adhering vellum to the card front look for ways to hide the adhesive (because it will show through the vellum) behind objects that will adhered over the top of the vellum.
I fussy cut several lanterns from the printed paper to adhere to the top of the vellum (Lower right). I used different pop dot depths to create layers.
Thanks for taking a look at my "Party Cards". I hope they have inspired you to consider creating hand made invites for your next get -together.
All of these great products are available for purchase at The Scrapbooking Studio, Moline, IL.

{Cards with Graphic 45} Birdsong Collection

Shanghai Girls is a cheeky, fun paper from the "Birdsong" Collection (Graphic 45). Shelly here with a  few cards I would love you to take a look at. I  created them using the Graphic 45 Birdsong papers:
You'll notice "the girls" are printed on about the size of a playing card-so they work great for the front of a greeting card.
The left card says, "Hello" spelled out using alpha stickers from Bella Blvd. Sophisticates Saffron & Mustard stickers ("Thank-You") is from the same. I wrapped cream toile around the fold at the top of the card and tied it in a bow. I added a metal brad to the center of a Graphic 45 flower and placed both in the bow's center.
The Thank-You card (as well as the "Hello" card) have Jasmine Dream as the printed background paper on Bazzill cardstock.
Here are a few more cards I created using Bird themed papers from the Birdsong Collection as well:
I feel that these cards will work great as Anniversary cards for special couples. It's always so hard to find good anniversary papers and the bird pairs are so pretty!
I used Spellbinder dies to cut two different label pieces (Metallic gold Bazzill and backside of Tranquility), and a word die for "Congrats". Highlights were created with an American Crafts gold metallic pen and a black Spica glitter pen. The cards base is Core'dinattions paper embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded with a Tim Holtz sanding block.
This card was created using a Bazzill card base, Tranquility paper from the Graphic 45 Birdsong line, Prima flowers (3 layered) and Prima self-adhesive button, Just Rite word stamps, black cat eye ink for the edges of the card.
Thanks for taking a look at my cards today! All of these products area available for purchase at The Scrapbooking Studio, Moline, IL

{Mini-Album} Graphic 45 Birdsong

"Birdsong" paper line by Graphic 45 offers a huge array of gemstone colors! When Birdsong papers are mixed with Graphic 45's  Black Policy Envelope mini-album bright colors really pop adding a bit of amazement to your project. Shelly here with a mini-album project I would love to share:
Create a cover embellishment cluster using Maya Road flower ribbon, gem-stone brad center, and Prima flowers. I removed the black string closure and added a black ribbon bow and a Basic Grey magnet closure to the front of the mini-album.
Nestabilities die cut images (Spellbinders) mixed with Birdsong papers and vellum papers create a petal soft appeal to each page. Adorn pocket flaps with large gems and buttons. Tuck secret messages or your own journal pages into each pocket (pictures slip in nicely too, of course!)
Add your favorite quotes and sayings to journal tags. Papers I used in this mini: Birdsong, Joy Luck, Good Fortune, Tranquility, Cherry Blossom, and Harmony.
I again used a large Maya Road ribbon flower as an accent to the envelope flap on this page.

Mixing images cut from Birdsong papers, journal tags, and die cut mats creates interesting layers throughout the mini-album.
And the final two pages....
Thanks for taking a look at this "Birdsong" mini-album meant to inspire the receiver with beautiful papers, thought provoking quotes, and inviting pockets. All of these products are available for purchase at The Scrapbooking Studio, Moline, IL

{Layout: Harmony & Friendship} Graphic 45 Birdsong

Graphic 45's Bird Song Collection offers many exiting paper designs! I've never worked with Asian themed papers until this line from Graphic 45, and I was amazed at the versatility of the papers! I would love to share this layout with you today (and a mini-album and lots of cards over the next several weeks). Check it out:
For the background paper I used Pearls of wisdom (beautiful black and gold!), Tranquility, Jasmine Dream, and Shanghai Girls served as complimentary paper embellishments.
Next I used a white flower cut from Maya Road ribbon and a Graphic 45 flower/misc. gem brad, and American Craft "Delight" white glitter thickers to create the upper left corner title block.
The gold metallic Bazzill cardstock was the perfect pairing with this collection of papers. I also used a Prima Essentials #9 Ornamenta de Floraux flower with a fussy cut paper icon in the center for the lower right embellishment.
I wanted to include a picture of the background paper to show the elegance it offers...
All of these products (and a ton more) are available at The Scrapbooking Studio! -See you there, Shelly.
