Copics aren't just for paper: Create five masculine Nautical themed cards using Copic marker coloring techniques on paper, sticky back canvas, acetate, vellum, and more!

 July 9, 2015 at 2PM and also at 6PM (the same class twice). 

Previous experience coloring with Copics recommended for this class. 

The class also features colorless blender highlighting techniques and creating a shadow effect.

 Each five card kit comes complete with color photos, detailed instructions, and envelopes for the easiest assembly. 

Please bring the following markers to class with you if you own them. If you don't own your own or don't have every color listed you may borrow mine during class. These are the main colors we will use during July's class: YG01, YG05, E31, E33, E35, E37, Colorless Blender, BG75, Y000,  
We will also use the following colors in class but not as frequently:  G02, G40, YG21, YG61, YG67, YG91, BG15, BG72, BG32, T1, T3, T5, B91, B93, B24, R29, R30, R35, R39, E50, RV00. You should also bring your favorite adhesives with you to class, pointy scissors for detail cutting, glue dots, vellum adhesive and pop dots. If you already own these items, please bring with you: Wink of Stella in clear, orange, silver and Cat Eye inks in brown, silver (metallic).

"All Boy" October Afternoon Design Team Projects-The Scrapbooking Studio, Moline, IL

October Afternoon's "All Boy" collection has arrived at The Scrapbooking Studio, Moline, IL and you're going to want to grab some of these adorable papers, along with Daily Flash Memory cards and Daily Flash Blurbs before it's too late! 

 These heavy duty double-sided papers are completely versatile for little boys, boys, and young adults.

 I've used some silver brads, wooden buttons, twine, and Maya Road acetate to create this card perfect for young adults:

 Layered Daily Flash "All Boy" Flash Blurbs and "this is so Cool" saying from Double Dog Dare paper along with Maya Road acetate tickets complete the look for a congratulatory card:

I would also like to share a two-page layout created with the collection. I used American Craft Thickers "Emma" in silver for the "ELVIS @ Graceland" title", the glitter paper is from Reminisce's Glitter Factory line (Sunlit Pool), 

 HINT: When using glitter paper I've found that pop dots work the best for adhering items to the paper.

Finally, I would like to share a mini-album created with Jillibean Soup's Corrugated Red Starburst Album:

I replaced the hinged ring it came with with a slightly large ring of my own to accommodate the thickness of my album.

 I used a starburst die with buttons throughout the album along with Queen Candy Shoppe Candy Stripers in blue to create unity.

 Daily Flash Memory Cards with used as photo mats and journaling cards throughout the album as well.

 "Tickets" for camel rides are written on acetate Maya Road tickets using an American Craft Slick Writer Pen in Black.

 Fussy cutting the bug critters (All Boy "Me First") was a fun and inexpensive way to embellish the mini-album throughout...

April's Copic class will feature five cards made for "Him" using papers from the My Mind's Eye Collectable series featuring Copic Markers used with Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection Mini Blue Prints 3 stamps, Prima Metal Paper Clips, Ranger Inkssentials Foil tape sheets. Studio Calico Chipboard stickers, and Sizzix Mustache set embossing folders. We will create five masculine themed cards: three birthday, one congratulations, and one "good idea" card. We will use the following markers during class: BG10, BG11, BG34, R35, YG61, YG63, C5, C7, C8, E11, E13, C0, C2, E70, E71, E74, E79, B00, B02, Colorless blender, Y02, Y04. {Valentine's Cards and More} Now & Then Collection

 Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it's time to get ready! Why not really "Wow" your family and friends with this 3-D card/mini? You can create this card with the Sizzix Album, Accordion Flip 3-D die designed by Karen Burniston for Sizzix.

The double sided papers in the Now & Then Collecton from Teresa Collins is the perfect combination to mix with the die to create Valentine's with a masculine feel.

I used my scallop and heart shaped punches to add the Valentine touch along with the alpha stickers also available from the Now and Then collection. I tied a little netting into a bow and another bit into a knot to bring out an accent color. 

I also created this 6x6 card using the Now & Then Collection, Prima leaf, Maya Road wooden butterfly (colored with Smooch), hand dyed ribbon, Bo Bunny glazed brad, die cut flowers from the Now & Then collection, and adhesive word stickers. 

Finally, I would like to share a 5x5 card created with the Now & Then clock paper (love it!), Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy, die cut pieces, adhesive words and Enamel Dots ALL from the Now & Then Collection designed by Teresa Collins.

 We will create Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, Thank You cards and a few more!

Create Masculine Cards easily with the newest line of papers, ribbons from American Crafts

Create wonderful masculine cards with the newest line of papers from American Crafts: Chap! The deep rich colors drew me in right away! The coordinating upscale ribbons is absolutely gorgeous. It's so hard to find masculine ribbon-I was thrilled when I walked into The Scrapbooking Studio last week and saw this line right away. Yeah!! 

 Don't forget to use the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to hold down the ribbons. Metal anything always adds a bit of masculinity to a card. The metal rimmed brads from Basic Grey do this as well as the embossed texture pictured below.

Add "guy" texture with Tim Holtz's embossing folders run through the Vagabond, ink the edges with Ranger distress Ink. Use stamps like Wendy Vecchi's Destination Art collection, Basic Grey brads used for hub caps on old car, and twine used on banner all come together to say,"This card is all for him".

 I love this flannel look wide ribbon :) coupled with Tim Holtz's on the edge die, JustRite cling stamps and dimensional pop dots this card looks sophisticated!

Why not include checks, gift cards and a note when you create a masculine pocket card? Try fraying the ribbon's ends and tacking them down to card front with brads to give the card a more masculine feel. Don't forget to include some metal on your best guy's card! A key to your heart is just the thing to add dimension and interest. Attach it with twine.
